Colossians 2:6-7, As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Oftentimes we use the term “walk with the Lord.” But that was never God’s intention. As Christians, we are to walk in Him.
With that mindset, we would not as easily “go”, apart from Him or leaving Christ behind. Those who walk “with” can also walk “away” and that’s not reality of His love for us.
When we live and move and have our being in Him, we are housed in His person and in His presence. And just like any natural house, there are furnishings. These supernatural furnishings are all of His character and integrity, The Fruit of His Spirit, His influence, His power, His gifts, prosperity and so much more!
This passage tells us how we can “abound therein”. (Where? In Christ and in our walk “in” Him.)
Thanksgiving will cause us to exceed in Him, remain in Him, to be excellent in Him and to have an abundance in Him! Thanksgiving yields an unlimited measure to us and through us.
This is my prayer today.
Thank you, Lord Jesus.
