Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for this one reading this who is lost in the crowd. I ask Lord that You would clear the room and bring deliverance from people, places, and things. Clear the room of the voices of doubt, scorn and any influence that hinders. Let life flow through their very being and let them arise and awaken to You in a way they never have before! Let their relationship with You and what You are doing become famous in the land so that souls can be saved and people set free! Thank You Lord! Amen & Amen.

Genesis 2:7, And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
This morning in prayer, as I was meditating on the wind or the breath of God, this scripture came to mind.
When God breathed into man, he did so as a Father.
It’s Father’s breath that filled the lungs of man…the only part of creation that required His breath. No other part of creation would have the relation to Father God that is reserved for us.
It was in this breath that we became a soul.
When the scriptures say, Let everything that has breath praise the Lord (Psalm 150:6), it’s much more intimate than it would first appear. The word breath here is the same breath we find in Genesis 2:7.
At first glance, it could appear that a bird’s song will do or a dog’s animated bark but not so. These will not suffice.
With that in mind… Psalm 150:6 takes on a different meaning. We are everything to God! EVERYTHING.
It’s amazing to think that His breath created this mind, will and emotions part of me. This is the part that I would think that is least pleasing to Him. Yet, with His Fathering breath, He gave life to it. With His breath…my personality. Your personality.
The word soul also means desire and appetite. His breath makes me hungry and thirsty. As He breathes in, my appetite grows and when I exhale His praise, I am satisfied. When I praise, I am filled.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10
That word might should not be mistaken for a question mark or a maybe. That’s just where God left it up to us to decide! It’s our choice to receive it or not! And each and every day, we are faced with opportunities to determine whether we have it or not.
I mean really, how many times have you used the word might that way or even heard it used to denote that something is in question…as in “it might be?” It’s a word that we commonly use when we really don’t know or are uncertain about the state of something. But in this particular passage, that word might does not represent a question mark, nor does it mean “I don’t know, maybe?” That word might can defined as express permission. Reading this passage with that in mind, He came so that we have express permission to have life and express permission to have it more abundantly. More life than what the need determines.
Liberty is another word that can be exchanged for might. To have liberty is to have the power to do as one pleases! It’s freedom from arbitrary or despotic control. It’s not about whether we deserve it or whether we’ve done everything right today! It’s not about whether or not someone else sees fit that we have it! The devils tyranny can’t stop it! It’s grace. Nothing but the blood of Jesus. When we believe, the only thing to be said is, “It’s mine!”
Thief, interestingly enough in this passage, translates differently than I had expected. It translates, “embezzler”. To embezzle is to appropriate (as property entrusted to one’s care) fraudulently to one’s own use. The thief is nothing more than a fraud! One who comes with intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right. He doesn’t work behind the scenes, go behind our backs or even come in unaware. This thief comes, pleads his cause bending the truth, twisting words, leaving something out, adding to and presenting us with all the ands, ifs or buts, question marks and maybes there are to offer. And then…if we surrender to it, there he goes with our husbands, wives, kids, houses, cars, bank accounts, etc…using them for himself!
The stealing, killing, destroying…the blood prevents it all! It’s better than a dead bolt, a combination, padlocks, keyed entry! Brinks Home Security (no offense) doesn’t hold candle to it! And more than that, it’s our agreement with the blood, that determines what we have.
And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. 16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. 18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish. 19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
What is it that has been contending with you? For so many recently, it has been literal, physical earthquakes. For others of us, there could be a spiritual shaking taking place that has dislodged mindsets, religious ways and wrecked our hiding places, exposing some things that need dealt with.
Maybe there is a famine being revealed where some things are greatly lacking in our character, virtue and integrity. It could be that physically we are lacking the health we need or the finances to pay the bills and fill our cupboards. Famine is a broad subject.
Perhaps it’s the pestilences. The Psalms speak of the noisome pestilence and the snare of the fowler. These are the annoyances and offenses that come in everyday life. Many times they ride on the air, through words and become avenues of strife, jealousy, envy and even hatreds that are contagious and can infect us as well as others if we don’t have the right defenses. Psalm 9:3 says that surely He will deliver us from such things.
Could it be that you’ve seen terrible things…fearful sights? Who has laid their hands on you and taken you for judgment?
As much as it hurts, you may be the one who has been betrayed by your family or your dearest friend. Are you feeling hated today? I pray not but there is good news.
IT SHALL TURN TO YOU FOR A TESTIMONY!
What shall? All of the above. All of these things are assignments from the enemy demanding a testimony!
Seems impossible. How can I be a testimony?
Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
God says, don’t even think about it! Just get it in your heart now that you won’t answer based on what you think, how you feel or according to your willingness. You see, the adversary comes with specific weapons. The adversary binds. He comes with chains and fetters to isolate us and to restrict our movement.
But if we, In your patience possess ye your souls…look out! We have in our arsenal a weapon that he cannot oppose. If we use the mouth and the wisdom God has given us, allowing His word to give testimony to His lordship through us, we are free. Free from the guilt of having said the wrong thing.
IT SHALL TURN TO YOU FOR A TESTIMONY!
These circumstances are just begging for evidence of God! These interrogations of the enemy are an opportunity to acknowledge God all the more! That’s what a testimony is!
Lord, the world is turning to us for a testimony. Thank you for trusting us with the earthquakes, the famines, pestilences, the fearful sights and the betrayals. For putting us in a position of testimony of You in this earth. In light of this, I am so aware of how I have failed in this but my prayer is, make me a testimony again. Let there be opportunity to testify of how You are altogether good! Thank you for the patience to possess my soul! I love you Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!
It’s been snowing and while it was piling up by the foot, seemingly, there came a “stand still”. During my time of study, the Lord brought me to this passage in Job. I wasn’t looking for the words “snow” or “severe weather” but nothing happens by coincidence.
God is saying something…
INDEED, [at His thunderings] my heart also trembles and leaps out of its place.
Hear, oh, hear the roar of His voice and the sound of rumbling that goes out of His mouth!
Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, and His lightning to the ends of the earth.
After it His voice roars; He thunders with the voice of His majesty, and He restrains not [His lightnings against His adversaries] when His voice is heard.
God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend.
For He says to the snow, Fall on the earth; likewise He speaks to the showers and to the downpour of His mighty rains.
God seals up (stops, brings to a standstill by severe weather) the hand of every man [and now under His seal their hands are forced to inactivity], that all men whom He has made may know His doings (His sovereign power and their subjection to it).
